Growing up with a mum married to an Ondo man meant pounding yam almost daily basis and cooking efo elegusi in a manner that was peculiarly Ondo.

This experience had ignited my interest in cooking and a dream to run a restaurant. This experience had ignited my interest in cooking and a dream to run a restaurant. On sharing this dream with my Ondo father, he said "aah! my enemies have caught up with me through this girl" and that there was no way I would be a food vendor according to him.

So, I went up to study law and after a few years, it was apparent where my passion was ironically, it was my same father that handled the construction of my restaurant.

With a family holiday through the West African coast and tasting the delicacies of the people of Ghana, Senegal, Republic of Benin, Côte d’Ivoire and Togo & realising that a lot of people from these countries live and work in Nigeria, I felt it was proper to not only make them feel at home in Nigeria but also afford Nigerians the cross cultural heritage of the West African taste.

This also made me go to a French school to learn the language as this would make me feel at home with them also through the Language.

It would be unfair to our European and American taste buds if we fail to carry them along hence, the introduction of the continental infusion.

My children had to bring waffles and pancakes on board as a protest.
