My practice began as a way of navigating anxiety, pressure, and the emotional weight that comes with having a visible identity as an artist. Painting became a means of protecting my mental state while allowing me to process lived experiences and survival. I see identity not as something forced or constructed in isolation, but as something continuously formed through memory and lived experience.
Through painting, photographic collage, and screen printing, I preserve and reconstruct memories. By layering these processes and materials, I create works that feel emotional, archival, and unsettled, much like memory itself. Through layered imagery and incomplete narratives, I create works that function both as personal documentation and as commentary on memory, visibility, belonging, and the complexities of identity.
