I’ve said this so many times, and I’ll say it again:

As far as filmmaking goes, no one comes close to Christopher Nolan. (At least in my opinion.)

He’s so obsessed with practical filmmaking that while everyone else reaches for green screens, Nolan builds it, blows it up, crashes it, or flies it for real.

Some examples:

1. The Dark Knight — Flipped a real 18-wheeler and blew up an actual hospital.
2. Interstellar — Grew 500+ acres of corn and built full-scale spacecraft interiors.
3. Tenet — Bought and crashed a real Boeing 747.
4. Oppenheimer — Recreated the Trinity test without CGI.

And now The Odyssey…

The first feature film shot 100% on IMAX film cameras. These cameras are enormous, incredibly loud, difficult to move, and each film magazine captures only about 3 minutes of raw footage before it has to be reloaded.
